About the Allegheny YMCA:
The Allegheny YMCA is one of 16 branches of the YMCA of the Greater Pittsburgh Association.  We are a non-profit, community based organization that serves men, women, boys and girls.  The Allegheny YMCA was established in 1920, and has been at its present structure on the Mexican War Street since 1926. 

Services offered:
The Allegheny YMCA is committed to affording everyone the opportunity to take advantage of its services by providing scholarships for those in need.  No one is turned away due to their inability to pay. 

The Allegheny YMCA’s facility includes a gymnasium, StrengthTrainingCenter, indoor swimming pool, carpeted locker rooms, men’s residence rooms, handball/racquetball/squash courts, child care facility, meeting rooms, indoor running track, and a brand new 22 piece CardioWellnessCenter with Cardio Theatre. 

Full privileged members have access to Worldwide YMCA’s through our A.W.A.Y program, personalized health enhancement programs, convenient location and hours, bi-monthly newsletter, skilled and experienced staff, free towel service, free guest day once per month, fitness assessments, personal exercise programs, free early morning coffee, equipment orientations, safe and wholesome environment, affordable family recreation and fitness at one location, organized programs fro all ages at reduced rates, non-competitive environment, volunteer opportunities, and  free group exercise classes.

Community Involvement:
The Allegheny YMCA takes an active role in the North side Community, in particular, with their Strong Communities Campaign.  The campaign supports families and children in our community.  The services provided include childcare assistance, membership assistance, employment counseling and placement services for teens, and health and wellness programs for people of all ages.
