The Greater Pittsburgh Council serves over 55,000 youth and adults through Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Venturing, Exploring, and Learning for Life.
The Council operates a service center and houses a retail Scout Shop at FlagPlaza, one of the finest facilities of its kind in the nation, where our volunteer leaders and youth members obtain program materials, uniforms, and participate in patriotic ceremonies.
Five Council camps serve more than 38,000 Scouts and Leaders each year. These same facilities are used by more than 60 different community partners and 4,000 participants for camping and retreats.
The “Invest in Timeless Values” development campaign has raised much of the funds needed to update and expand our ability to serve the needs of our Scouting program; these include the McGinnisEducationCenter, RohrFamilyChallengeCenter and The Dale E. Liken Memorial Nature Trail. We have much more to come!
Training opportunities include Junior Leader, Basic Leader, Fast Start Video, Wood Badge, Outdoor Training for Webelos Leaders, and University of Scouting, with 250 new leaders certified in youth protection training each year.
